John Hardy the designer moved to Bali from his native Canada in 1975 and studied traditional Balinese jewelry techniques from local masters. He then applied these techniques to his own unique design vision. With the collaboration of his wife and muse Cynthia, he developed a workshop that now employs over 600 people, including an international management team from Europe, America, Australia and Asia. The Hardys, who live in Bali and New York, believe in a concept of ’sustainable luxury’ in which beautiful things are made in an environment that is gentle and respectful.”
