Years ago before the large jewelry chains came about people would buy their jewelry from the local store. Because of lack of competition, the jewelry could charge premiums and there was not a large range for people to choose from. With more stores became more competition, this not only brought down the prices but allowed a wide variety of stock to be available for people to choose from. With online stores popping up we now have so much more to choose from and the market has become super competitive.

The first thing to consider when shopping for sterling silver jewelry is your needs and expectations. You really need to have some idea of what you are looking for to help narrow down the search. Simply deciding on a single type (such as necklace) really gives you an idea where to start. By setting a budget or price you are willing to pay you also set a limit to your search. These two variables create a very broad expectation of what you are looking for and can get you ready to search for the perfect piece.

The next variable is to narrow down the various stores and web sites you can buy the jewelry from. By rating each store and forgetting the lower rated stores, you can set yourself up to Choose Quality Silver Jewelry. The point here is that if the company you are buying from is not quality then their jewelry won’t be either. Things you can look at are: online reviews of the store, online reviews of the pieces, returns policies, shipping policies, shipping prices, average prices, and even the quality of silver used. Once you have narrowed down the stores then you are ready to move to the next step.

Now you really need to decide on the style of piece you are after. Perhaps you are looking for a modern look, or even retro look. If you need it to match a particular outfit then this is the time to match the two together. Some people may prefer to go with a complete silver item with absolutely no additions. For others gem stones, shells and other precious items really can add flavor to the silver piece. Once you have decided on what you are looking for you can evaluate the pieces that you do find.

Once you have a shortlist of items which meet your criteria then you are ready to make a final decision. Finding a quality silver item is not easy and you need to evaluate each one to ensure you get the best deal. Take careful consideration of returns policies and warranties as you never know when you may need to use them. The quality of silver used is important and you need to make sure only the finest is used rather than cheaper options. Be careful of factory seconds and read the fine print as these items could be damaged. Finally make use of sales and clearances to get the best price.

Jewelry maintenance could be done in simple ways. When it will be used for parties, it turns your jewelry is dirty and dull. Do not panic. Here’s how to restore its beauty.

1. silver
Jewelry of silver generally tend to be black due to oxidation. To make it clean again, grab a cup of vinegar mixed with one tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda. Enter the jewelry into it, then stir, and rub gently. Leave for an hour or more if the jewelry is very dirty. After that wash and dry.

2. Gold Plated
The biggest problem with gold-plated jewelry is quickly fading golden color. To retain color, apply a nail polish color neutral / transparent on the jewelry. This will not only make gold gilding last a long time, but also produce more luminous jewelry like real gold.

3. gold
Place the jewelry made of gold into a container / bowl of warm water that has been coupled with a little shampoo and also a little turmeric powder. Leave in water for 3 minutes, wipe with a soft brush, then wash and dry.

As a woman, girls Jewellery are things that can beautify the appearance, with the trendy girls Jewellery then look even more attractive and create confidence.

Many jewelry ring jewelry ring stone is added in it, but the average is added to the stone ring in jewelry jewelry rings jewelry can make you difficult to resell

Guide women buy gold and silver jewelry in general :

Usually we buy gold jewelry is in accordance with the gram. Neither gold nor gold polosan who wear jewelry such as ring model which is added his gem against the frame.

Gold for investment

If you choose to invest all that pure or without diamonds or gemstones are added. Because if you sell it later will be easier. Originally there was a letter all the gold shops are usually willing to buy again. Because jewelry gem stone can be damaged, scratched or chipped. If this is the price to drop further. Especially if the jewel to disappear. Because most gold traders measuring weighed gram directly with jewels. It’s rare gem weight is up to over one gram of gold into jewelry. But still as investment advice note this article.

Why gold should have a letter or memorandum of purchase of the old if you selling again?

Not all experts determine the levels of gold shops. Usually only the boss and employee can trust and to the extent this observation that the real gold. To know the true content of meal time and technology. This knowledge is difficult. So it is helpful if the buyer and seller must sell gold because there is a letter written content. As a suggestion, in which the step that buy there. Will be a little conversation going.

Caution when buying

* Most importantly buy a clean one. I mean sometimes there’s green gold in certain pores. Stores often say: “It’s normal.” No, this gold has not been washed properly. It’s still there the rest of medicine that can cause skin allergies. Usually causes itching when reacting with skin.

* Note the gems do not get chipped. Because time will affect the selling price.

* If you buy a necklace or bracelet jewelry model select machine that uses an artificial key or the like letters ‘S’, or the key is called a toggle. Medium handmade key usually shaped push-push sometimes becomes weak when it’s age is certainly not good.

Buy silver jewelry

The most important thing when buying silver jewelry is associated with the keys. Or button technique. Because silver is softer than gold, the key will often be no more powerful when it ages.

More importantly buy a silver ring model in a trusted store for the original silver. Lately silver frequently falsified by using other materials and then in chrome or silver plating and laymen difficult to distinguish the authenticity of this silver.

Silver jewelry original model made with care rarely makes the user become allergy that usually causes a red rash on the skin.

People often hear and also frequently utter these words: “Fuel Silver” These accessories are very much sought later jewelry enthusiasts. This type of silver is black like the former burned so many people call it the silver fuel. This is wrong in our society. Even strangers (the Netherlands) is often called “Gebrant Zilver”, meaning fuel is also silver. Equally misguided ..

Silver is not silver that burned fuel to burn. Roasted silver shiny white and silver are the same.

Actually, the black silver was not because the combustion process but deliberately made black with a mixture of chemicals based Sulfur / sulfur. Silver among the craftsmen, the term is in-oxide. Because virtually all types of silver either black or the white glossy undergoing a process of heating or burning the soldering process so here it is clear that the combustion process is not intended to create a silver to black.

In addition to the attractive colors, this kind of interest because silver is more durable and seemsvery classic . In addition, its simple and not glamorous silver make fuel can be used in the place and time, anytime.

Still discussing about jewelry care. Here’s a way to clean gold and silver jewelry types that should not be imitated because it will make you disappointed.

* Often seen people cooking the gold or silver ring model. This method actually for those who already know. Because there are types of gems that are not strong with the hot temperatures that cause the color faded gem instead. No longer cling.

* Cook using aluminum pots may cause a black dye or called oxid is usually used instead accidentally lost. But if you really want to remove this black drug could be added a little salt, the black dye on silver ring pair will be lost. Reaction of aluminum salts and oxidation binding.

* Brewing using acid do if there are gems. Acid is a substance that can cause the lining abrassive gloss rings jewels become blurred. Mainly in soft gems like Amber. Also can cause inclusions (such particles are in a jewel might be changing color). Usually when imitation he will quickly change the color.

Caring for jewelry is a routine that must dilkakukan to maintain the integrity of the collection we have. Here are tips on how to clean gold and silver jewelry your favorite:
* Wipe often as possible jewelry silver rings and gold rings your partner. Use a cloth and abrasive materials such as autosol are sold in supermarkets or often at a motorcycle repair shop. Wipe using a soft and nice of the former cotton shirt or cotton which are frequently washed. Cotton can also rub the ring model yet so it’s rather difficult.
* Save the model silver ring in a cloth bag before entering the cabinet, or leather bag. If there is silica gel which is easily available in supermarkets are also very good. Another place that is safe is a box of paper, plastic and metal.
* If a ring of gold or silver rings are too scratch your partner and you do not mind for a little shrinkage (goldsmith was serviced to shrinkage), use sandpaper no. 1000 when it’s fine to use fine sandpaper No. 2000 to be an occasional dip in the water. If thats enough to use just fine autosol had to make silver rings shiny again. If it’s less shiny it’s need to ample more and more. This is called polishing. This method can not be done for plated items due to cause plating layer is lost.
* Jewels opaque. Actually opaque jewel ring model can also be rubbed with the above but it takes much longer depending on the level of opacity and the type of pearl. If couples diamond ring do not try because this jewel of the world’s loudest. Very special, so expensive. Actually, in ways similar to refine jewel metal goods ie the process of polishing or sanding and rub like the above.

Silver is a popular precious metal used in jewelry, but like gold it can be too soft to use in its purest form for everyday jewelry, and so is mixed with trace amounts of other metals in order to create a stronger, more durable material. Sterling silver is one of the most popular alloys for jewelry and is made of a high density of silver 92.5%, with the remaining 7.5% commonly made up of copper.

This gives a strong, malleable and versatile alloy, which can be made into almost any shape, but the copper content can mean that the jewelry has a tendency to tarnish if not warn regularly, so you will need to care for items made from sterling silver carefully to keep them bright and shiny.

Caring for Sterling Silver jewelry
When you are not wearing sterling silver jewelry you will need to store it in a special tarnish proof cloth bag or case, which will help to reduce the effects of gases in the air reacting with the copper in the jewelry. This will help to prevent tarnishing, and will also protect the jewelry from rubbing or scratching against other harder items of jewelry. Sterling silver is still quite soft and can scratch very easily so you must not clean it with any abrasive cloths or substances, and the best way to bring up the shine again is with a smooth polishing cloth and a little dab of some special sterling silver polish which you can get in supermarkets and hardware stores.

If you wear your sterling silver jewelry all of the time it can develop a lovely patina, which has a lovely soft glowing look that combines lightly polished areas where the silver has rubbed against your skin with some smooth, darker areas of tarnish. This can be a great look for older silver jewelry and does no harm to the item, so if you like this look you do not need to polish or clean the jewelry.

Buying Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is stamped with a hallmark ‘925′, and also sometimes the maker’s mark and the country of origin. This will let you know the piece is genuine sterling, but if you are not sure for any reason then you can always ask a professional jeweller for more advice. Sterling silver is a beautiful and affordable precious metal alloy, and can be worked in to a huge variety of designs and styles.

You can find lots of bargains on many items of expensive and beautiful jewelry online, but it is important that you do your research very carefully first, as you will not be able to look at the pieces in person before you buy, and you need to know all of the karats and hallmarks to understand the value of what you are buying, so you know what is a fair price to pay.

Hallmarks
A hallmark is basically a quality control marking that tells you the weight of pure gold or silver in the jewelry, and all items sold in the UK must by law have a full set of hallmarks if they are being sold or traded. Hallmarks consist of 3 stamps, one that tells you the karat (the pureness of the precious metal), one that tells you the maker’s name and also one that tells you the country of origin.

In some rare cases items of antique jewelry may not have any recognisable hallmark stamps, and as you will not be able to examine the piece yourself when buying online it is best to stay away from these items unless you are absolutely sure of their authenticity. When buying gold, platinum or silver jewelry online make sure you check the hallmarks are present, and if you are buying on an auction site ask the seller to send you a clear picture of the hallmarks if it is not shown in the listing.

Auction Websites
Auction websites such as eBay are a great place to pick up bargains on new and used jewelry, but as with any type of auction buying you do need to be carefully about setting yourself a strict budget, and sticking to it. Auctions can be very exciting, and it can be tempting to keep bidding in the last few moments to ensure you get the piece, but this could mean that you end up spending over the odds for it, and then you have to add the postage costs as well.

Make sure you have checked the item you are bidding on carefully, and have noted down the weight, karat, country or origin and maker’s mark. Do some research online and look at what similar pieces are worth, and this will give you an idea of what budget to set yourself. Of course if you really like the piece of jewelry you are bidding on then it is worth spending a bit more money if you are going to keep it and wear it all the time, but it does pay to check prices first so you don’t end up paying more for something in an auction room, that you could buy new somewhere else for less.

The second a hummingbird with pink glass beads.

The third a dragon with red glass beads.

And the last is a dolphin with blue glass beads.

It’s a wet and VERY windy day here today, hubby took our son to school this morning so i could stay in the warmth. But i had to go out to the post office, which i didn’t mind as it was a order from my website. It was actually the shell bracelet which i made yesterday so i’m happy with that.
